Tam and Jax are perfectly hot and happy with each other, despite their rare male pair bonding. Until Tam starts having visions and feels the need to go to Settler's Mine, that is. Why is a puzzle as they already have their mated heartstones.

But Jax will deny Tam nothing, so they go to Settler's Mine, where they meet Kiann. And once they do, their lives will never be the same -- because her heartstone glows in response to theirs. They can't believe a woman is their third mate, even if they both feel mind numbing attraction for her. The first attraction they've felt for any woman.

But Kiann is not just any woman. She's the denied heir to the throne of Ebolia, and her stepbrother will stop at nothing to keep his power. Tam and Jax will have to do more than claim their mate. They're going to have to keep her alive.

4th Annual Passionate Plume Finalist

4.5 Stars! "Mechele Armstrong has a way with words that can be truly magical. In The Woman, her characters are experiencing so many changes in their lives that it draws the reader into their lives as if these were people that we already knew. The world that Ms. Armstrong has created is so beautifully constructed that it adds depth to a story that is already loaded with drama andpassion and sensuality. That in and of itself is a sign of a brilliant author."
—Kimberley Spinney, Sensual Ecataromance

5 Nymphs! "Mechele Armstrong has written yet another solid story in this series. With intriguing characters, exciting erotic play, and a fantastic plot, The Woman doesn't lack in its ability to sustain your attention. Throw in a dash of suspense and action and you've just been given a book that will keep you entertained and enthralled. I'm waiting anxiously for book four of the wonderful series."
—Scandalous Minx, Literary Nymphs

4.5 Blue Ribbons! "Mechele Armstrong wrote this intricate relationship in such a way as to be realistic and compelling. Add in a deceitful stepbrother as a villain hell bent on Kiann's destruction and readers will utterly enjoy this novel."

Tam frowned, his face tensing up before relaxing as if he hadn't contemplated that outcome. "No. Jax will come around."

"He might not." The way her luck went, she had her doubts. Her throat dried too much to swallow. She wanted this, but didn't want to cause any more problems. What should she do? Who should she deny? Herself or her desires?

"He will. I know him. You're our mate."

If only she could share in Tam's certainty. "I won't cause problems between you two." A vow she'd keep above all others.

"You won't." He leaned down to press a soft kiss against her lips. "We will work this through."

Therein came the moment of choice. She could deny Tam what he wanted—what she wanted—with some notion of protecting Jax by not taking further intimacies until he could join in. But what would that do for them in the grand scheme of things? Nothing that she could think of. By furthering her intimacies with Tam, she increased her chances of Jax coming around. Of viewing her as more than a sexual object, as Tam already did.

Her eyes closed. She was selfish enough to want this with Tam. To want Jax to come around. To try any means of convincing him that this mating was what he needed. "You think he'll come around? That he'll accept me as his mate? As your mate?"

"He will."

Her eyes opened as Tam pressed another slow kiss along her lips. Her body lit with fire. An old starter to a shuttle had nothing on her. She kissed him back for all she was worth, making him moan against her lips.

She needed this. Needed to be with someone who cared about her. It had been a long time since she'd had a caring person in her life. She'd never been intimate with anyone like this. Tam did care for her. Even though they'd only known each other a short time, he did. She could sense his internal emotions. He wanted her.

The time had come to press on with her life and claim her mates. One at a time if need be.

The kiss filled her with promises.

She had some say over Jax. Some say over his reactions. Right then and there, her heart thundered for her to make Jax hers. Take Tam now and make Jax realize their full potential as mates.

The only way. The best way to handle this situation.

With renewed vigor, she gave herself over to the kiss, letting Tam know with her responses to him how much she wanted this, how much she wanted him.

She ran her hands over the spirals of the tattoo on his neck before running down to the planes of his hard chest. His muscles flexed under her hands. They flowed in a tantalizing manner with innate strength.

His hand tangled in her hair as the kisses grew more intense, more real.

She was going through with this.

Her first time having sex. Making love.

Her heart hammered in her chest, speeding up her breathing.

The reality of what she was about to do grew overwhelming, and she shuddered. Nothing had ever been so real.

He pulled back. "You okay?"

"Yes." She looked up into his beautiful face. She could tell him anything, and he'd listen. He gave that sense to her, and she took the bait. "I'm a little nervous." She couldn't meet his eyes with her confession.

His eyes smoldered with long-overdue passion. "Me, too."

"You?" He didn't seem to be nervous at all. Her gaze scanned his serious face. "Why are you?" She couldn't imagine why he'd be anxious. They'd take a big step for her because of her lack of prior intimacy. Not to mention, while she understood the clinical makeup of sex, she wasn't sure she understood everything about the act. Well, you're about to find out. Thrills and chills raced across her.

"I've never been with a woman before."
